Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Summer is upon us once again, bringing vacations, ball games, cookouts, camping, gardening, and time spent outdoors with family and friends. There is something renewing about slowing down, enjoying God’s creation, and stepping away from the usual routines of life.
As we enter the season of Pentecost, we are reminded that true renewal comes through the Holy Spirit. Paul reminds us that even when we grow weary outwardly, God is still renewing us inwardly day by day. Through the Holy Spirit, God strengthens our faith, refreshes our hearts, and draws us closer to Christ.
I encourage all of us to seek renewal this summer in every part of life. Spend time with family. Laugh often. Rest when you need to rest. Enjoy the beauty of summer. But also continue to make worship and time with God part of your routine. The Holy Spirit continues to gather, renew, and guide us wherever we may be.
Whether you are here at Bethel or traveling this summer, stay connected to worship. If you are away, visit another congregation and experience the larger family of God at work in other places as well.
I also want to express my heartfelt thanks to all of you for the love and support you showed to Mike, our family, and especially to Mike’s mom, Mary, during her passing and memorial service. I was so proud of our church family and the care, compassion, hospitality, and servant hearts that were shown during that time. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Christ to us.
