Hello Bethel!
Back in the day, we used to have a letter to you from the SLT president. I want to reinstate that- so that you know what’s going on in and through Bethel.
For those of you that do not know me, I am Jamie Villante (previously Ham) and have been coming to Bethel for 19 years. I have been married to Joseph for 4.5 years and have an 18 month old named Abigail. I was excited when Pastor asked me to be President of the SLT for this coming year, knowing that God is still working in and through the community at Bethel, even though we have been apart for almost a year.
This past year, we have been challenged to think outside of the box when it comes to continuing to worship and how we serve. A new website was already on the to-do list, but it became top of the list when it was a major way to show who Bethel is. We also figured out how to livestream so while at home you can be a part of worship. Bethel- who, from
my millennial perspective, had been slow to joining the 21st century, was finally thrust into the technology era. And though we still have some difficulties with our videos- such as with sound and lighting, just know this is something we are working on. Hopefully in the next couple of months our new computer, camera, livestream setup and sound system will be functioning.
Within the next week, check your email for a survey (or snail mail for those who do not use technology). I want to hear from You! I want to know how was 2020, and what you want to see in 2021! If you would, please fill out this survey by March 15. Our goal for Bethel in 2021 is fellowship and community. I think after being forced apart for 12 months, more now than ever we all realize the importance of community. God has called us to be a part of a community- that is the church- and we as leadership of SLT want our focus for this coming year to be on ways to think outside of the box and bring a new sense of community- safely within CDC guidelines- to our congregation and visitors.
If you ever need anything from myself, or the SLT please do not hesitate to email us at SLTPresident@BethelAurora.org or SLT@BethelAurora.org or call the church office at 303-364-2245.
I am super excited for this year and can’t wait to see how God works through each of our lives and through our doors at Bethel. I hope you all will choose to walk on this journey with us with a focus on fellowship, community, and growing together in our faith.
Blessings,
Jamie Villante
